Request for Community Steering Committee nominations

Local government is working on a new initiative to prevent violence against women and their children in our community

Did you know?

In Australia, around one in three women has experienced physical violence and almost one in five has experienced sexual violence since the age of 15. One woman is killed every week by a current or former partner.

As leaders and representatives of our community, we are committed to everyone’s safety and wellbeing. We condemn all forms of violence and believe in the right of every person to live in a safe environment free from abuse. With such high rates of violence against women and their children we have decided to take action and target this form of violence.

Are you interested in being part of positive change?

Interested community leaders are invited to nominate themselves to be on a Community Steering Committee to work with local government to design and deliver violence prevention activities.
